IFTTT is an english acronym which stands for "If This Then That", meaning "If this happens", then "do that". After uploading IFTTT app, users are invited to create simple scenario, called “recipes,” where an event in one device or service automatically triggers an action in another. Applet: this is the recipe you create. You determine an action that will trigger another action. Trigger: this is what triggers the action (smartphone geolocation is a designated area, or a specific sentence for Google Assistant, for example) Service: the service or channel that can be used (Facebook, Twitter, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). Action: this is the action you want carried out (change colour of Philips hue bulbs when you watch a film on Netflix). ❝For example if I say “Ok Google, Bed time” to the Google assistant, TaHoma® closes all my shutters and garage door, switches the thermostat onto night mode, turns off the lights and activates the alarm.❞
IFTTT can be accessed from your computer, tablet and smartphone, and is easy to use with its intuitive interface that doesn't require any technical know-how. Although only available in English, the service is so easy that you will have no difficulty using it.
